Privacy policy
This covers the Unlinked app and this website. The short version: the app collects nothing, and the website keeps only what you type into the waitlist form.

Who we are
Unlinked is made by Unlinked Digital Inc., in Ontario, Canada. Our Privacy Officer is responsible for personal information and can be reached at [email protected].
The app
- We don't collect any data from the app. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs, and the app makes no network connections in normal use. Our planned App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
- Everything you import or enter stays on your iPhone. Like any app's data, it's included in your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer) if you've turned them on. Those backups are stored by Apple under your Apple Account, and we can't read them.
- Receipts. Receipt photos, scans and PDFs you attach, and the text read from them, are processed and stored only on your iPhone, and are part of your iPhone backup. A photo is saved without the place it was taken. Unlinked uses the camera only when you scan or photograph a receipt. Photos are chosen through Apple's photo picker, so Unlinked never has access to your photo library.
- Categorising and Ask use Apple's on-device model on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence. On other iPhones, categorising uses built-in rules. Nothing is sent to Apple or to us for this.
- Notifications (payment reminders and alerts) are scheduled on your phone.
- Apple Pay logging uses an automation in Apple's Shortcuts app on your phone. It hands the purchase amount, merchant and card name to Unlinked on the same phone. Nothing leaves it.
- Purchases go through Apple. Apple tells us about sales in aggregate; we don't receive your name, email or payment details.
When you email us
The only things that leave your phone are things you send us yourself, by email, after seeing them. When you do, we receive what you send.
- Support emails written from the app include only the app version. We keep support emails as long as we need them to help you, and delete them when you ask.
- Masked layouts. If an import fails, you can choose to send us a masked copy of the statement's layout (how that works). We use it only to make Unlinked read that kind of statement. We delete it once the fix ships, and in any case within 12 months.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings › Delete all data, or delete the app. There's no copy anywhere else for us to delete.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. This website doesn't set cookies and doesn't load any tracking or advertising scripts.
- The waitlist stores your email, where you live (Canada, the US or elsewhere), the optional answers you give, the time you signed up and the wording you agreed to. It doesn't store your IP address. It's stored with Cloudflare, our host, which may store and process it outside your country, and used only to email you about testing and the launch. If you live outside Canada and the US, that includes telling you if Unlinked becomes available where you live; we can't say whether or when that will be. Wherever you live, your entry is handled the same way: every email has an unsubscribe link, and if you ask us at [email protected], we'll show you your entry or delete it.
- Hosting. Cloudflare, which hosts this site, processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver it and protect it from attacks.
- Spam protection. The waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam bots. Turnstile runs a check in your browser and tells us only whether it passed. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.
Children
Unlinked and this website are not intended for children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and say what changed.
